A quick and easy lunch idea for kids; pizza toast cooked in the airfryer with three hidden veggies

I’ve been making cheat’s pizza recipes for years; Tortilla Pizzas, Pizza Bagels and of course Pizza Toast.

Since buying an airfryer I’ve been making these even more. There’s something about chucking it into the airfryer that just feels a bit quicker and easier!

This version of Airfryer Pizza Toast is just as quick and easy and it also has three hidden veggies mixed into the sauce.

Ingredients arranged on a pink chopping board.

The first step is to toast the bread in the airfryer. Spray with a little oil and cook for 2 minutes on either side.

This gives a nice crunchy base for the pizza toppings and stops the bread from getting soggy.

Next prep the veggies. Finely grate the carrot and courgette and chop the pepper into small pieces.

Veggies chopped and prepped for cooking.

Mix the veggies with some pasta or pizza sauce.

You could also use some tinned chopped tomatoes but I like using pasta or pizza sauce as it’s already seasoned with herbs and is a little thicker too.

Ingredients being mixed together in a bowl.

Spread the sauce and veggies onto the toasted bread and add grated cheese on top.

Cook for 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

Once cooked you can’t even see the vegetables. They’re completely mixed in with the sauce and then covered with the melted cheese.

Great for fussy eating kids!

Cut into squares or triangles.

You can add some fresh basil leaves for some extra flavour if you think your kids would like them.

Serve immediately with some chopped fruit and veggies for a healthy kid-friendly lunch that’s super quick and easy.

Which Air Fryer Is The Best?

There’s so many different air fryers out there on the market at the moment. Some of the big brand names are expensive but I have been using this Uten 6.5 Litre Air Fryer since last year and I love it.

It’s really big, perfect for family sized meals and fits a whole chicken too!
